THE ORIGINAL? Nike « Give yourself to the run » – 2015 Watch the TV Commercial (You Tube) Source : CampaignBrief, The Next Gag Agency : Wieden + Kennedy Shanghai (China) |

Eng “These two TV commercials tell exactly the same story : a early morning runner falls in love with another much more confirmed. He trains day after day to try to catch up with him / her. Same scenario, storytelling (difficult awakening, love at first sight, training, and final reunion ...) same urban scenery and landscapes... a bit too much for a simple coincidence? Be the judge.”

Plastic bottle fish / Une bouteille à l’amer… goût de déjà-vu?
THE ORIGINAL? WWF France (Spec ad) – 2016 “Soon in your own plate. Protect the oceans” Source : Saxoprint Creative Awards AD : Alison Epaud (France) |
LESS ORIGINAL Florianopolis City Government – 2018 “The more plastic, the less life in the oceans” Source : Coloribus Agency : D/Araújo Comunicação (Brazil) |
Eng “The visual idea is the same here : a plastic bottle waste is looking like a dead fish that has just been caught from the sea. It's the kind of "first idea" that unfortunately, because of the increasing pollution of the oceans, I'm pretty sure we'll see coming back soon again and again...”

Eng “It's quite sad to see that students from a digital native generation aren't able to run a simple priority search on the internet. They publish their fake works on adsoftheworld regardless the fact that this idea has been done before by another car manufacturer.”
Point. »

The truth unmasked / Pierre Berville tombe le masque
THE ORIGINAL? Eau Minérale Vichy Saint-Yorre – 1961 Agency : Havas Paris (France) |
LESS ORIGINAL Eau Minérale Naturelle Vittel – 1978 Agency : CLM/BBDO Paris (France) |
Eng “in his great book "Demain j'enlève le haut" (Aquilon) well known french creative director Pierre Berville confesses that much of the visual idea of his famous Vittel water campaign from the late seventies was somehow a bit deja vu . I did not need more to try to prove it. And I ended up finding this campaign for another mineral water, which had been made 17 years before, also in France.”
Eng “The idea: go there is so cheap that it allows you to come back and take a picture you fucked up the first time. It's hard to hide it's the exact same concept. what puzzles me is that both campaigns (print and social media) went out in the same country a few months apart.”
