Eng “The visual shows a woman, legs in the air, tossed into a recycling bin. Everything here is virtually identical—the subject, the styling, the lighting—and yet the two images are not the same. Should we blame generative AI for plundering and churning out creative material? It took some nerve to promote recycling (of organs) using a recycled photo! Coincidence? Be the judge!”

Eng “The creative idea : an online shop with goods made of "human" leathers. This idea launched by PETA this week is eye striking and provocative but certainly not original! They've just reproduced a creative idea done before without giving proper credit to the original creators. Quite shocking for a company that promotes ethical behavior, Copycat or coincidence? Be the judge!”

Choquant? À vous de juger. »

Surrealistic lookalike / Un pâle reflet de l’original?

Eng “Tribute, inspiration, homage or plagiarism ... it's difficult to draw the line. What is certain is that the original Magritte painting is titled "Prohibited Reproduction" and that obviously did not stop the Indians to stole the visual idea! (No mention of Magritte is made in the credentials given by the agency)”

Eng “Claude Serre was a very famous french artist who published several well known books full of funny drawings. It's not hard to see where the inspiration comes from. Maybe they thought that in Australia nobody would notice? Or maybe great minds think alike? Who know...”

Eng “I really can't tell if it's a conscious or an unconscious reference to René Magritte. They finally admitted that it was some kind of "tribute"... which is quite an easy way, in my opinion, to avoid controversy. But in any case this is not the first time that advertising borrows (or stole?) visual ideas to the surrealist movement.”

Fr « Un bien curieux face-à-face. »
